Small city, big event, huge beach
The sponsors and sellers of gear are out in full force.
Some people have to work: camera operator, search & rescue & fishers:
Room for everyone here: bodysurfers
The beach is impeccably clean, with a little help from the tractors.
There's a little skater park for the non-surfers to have fun
Lots of folks dry camping in the parking lot. We liked the philosophy on this RV
Paul managed to get some great shots with our little point-&-shoot camera when we walked way out onto a breakwater.
The Blue Team warms up, then is ready to compete.
Surfer kids
The Malecon
When the Malecon finally runs out there is still beach as far as you can see.
Then a little group of cottages appears. The one below looks like it is half-buried from drifted sand.
Lots of happy, smiling people and dogs on the beach today.
As someone said (unknown author):
"There are a million ways to surf, and as long as you're smiling you're doing it right"
The end of a good day
